Management Development Programmes (MDPs)
IIMT has been a pioneer in developing and offering short duration Management Development Programmes (MDPs) with a four-decade enviable standing in the comity of B-schools in India. These MDP are designed keeping in view the ever changing demands on business/professional executives. The programme content of even the standard MDPs is constantly reviewed and changes made therein on a continuous basis. The objective of the MDPs is to help improve management systems and practices in India and other countries in South Asian Region by providing relevant training to the executives of different sectors of the economy operating at different levels in the organisational hierarchy. The participants are equipped with the latest tools, techniques and skills spanning different streams of management such as General Management, Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour, Marketing, Finance, Operations Management, Information Systems, Strategic Management and Industrial Relations. The various functional areas covered in these programmes are given below:
A majority of these programmes are held in the campus of IIMT at Varanasi, while a few of them are held at prominent cities in the country. The programmes conducted at IIMT are On Campus / Off Campus. The participants are housed in a modern complex of comfortable air-conditioned twin-sharing rooms at the MDP Residence located in the campus. The computer lab with Internet connections provide opportunities for the participants to stay connected not only with their near and dear, but also with the business world at large. The MDP residence is a home away from home!
In-Company Training Programmes
IIMT accepts requests from organizations for conducting customized training programmes for their executives at different levels, and offers unique programmes to suit the business and developmental needs of client organizations. Standard Modules from regular MDPs are also combined and adapted, wherever necessary, to suit the requirements of client organizations.
The duration of these programmes ranges from two days to one month depending upon the variety, magnitude and complexity of topics covered. While some of these are conducted at the Institute, a few are held in the premises of the client organizations. A total of 120 In-company Training Programmes were conducted during the year 2008-09, covering some 14 topics in different Functional Areas, and a little over 75 Executives from different Corporate Houses did participate in these Programmes.
